As The Mayflower celebrates the first anniversary of its new Bristol Landing expansion, residents have discovered that it has not only fulfilled their expectations; it has exceeded them.

With its resort-style amenities and community-focused design, the new neighborhood was designed to be a trend-setter and it has delivered a senior living option that is without peer in Central Florida.

It was that promise of innovation that prompted new residents like Bob and Susan Battaglia to make the move. “We’d lived in Winter Park for years, and we knew The Mayflower well – Bob’s father and both of my parents were residents,” says Susan. “But when we heard about the new construction, that really sealed the deal.”

Featuring small-neighborhood design; open concept living spaces, high ceilings, abundant natural light and architecture that drew inspiration from downtown Winter Park, the Waterside Residences offered the perfect combination of independent living and social connection. Put together, Bob says, it’s a recipe for “complete peace of mind.”

“The best surprise – and the biggest one – has been the sense of community that exists here,” adds Susan. “Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We’ve lived in Winter Park a long time and moved here at the same time as several of our friends – then made even more friends after moving in!”

But the residences aren’t the only highlight at Bristol Landing. About the same time the first neighbors were moving in, doors opened at our stunning new Club House – featuring the sophisticated new Cru Quarters restaurant, wine bar and lounge, theatre room, game and card room, and scenic outdoor patio with a firepit.

“When people see the Club House for the first time, they’re always taken aback, because it’s not what they expect from a senior living community,” says Taylor Womack, Director of Marketing and Brand Engagement at The Mayflower. “It’s elevated, on-trend and stylish, with country-club polish.”

It’s no surprise that the Club House has become a big draw for residents and visitors alike. The versatile venue is a go-to gathering spot for events of all kinds – from wine tastings and cooking classes to informational sessions, tailgate parties and film screenings.

The Battaglias, for example, celebrated their move to Bristol Landing by hosting a dinner party at Cru Quarters for their former neighbors. “Some of our friends were perhaps a bit skeptical when they heard we were moving to a senior living community,” recalls Susan. “So, we invited them to come see it for themselves. Suffice to say, they were quite impressed!”

As we celebrate a big first year at Bristol Landing, The Mayflower is living up to the accolade of being named “the best in Winter Park.” And with assured healthcare, maintenance-free living and a selection of stylish (and surprisingly affordable) apartments, there’s no better place to embark on your next adventure.
