‘Tis the Season for Togetherness

Whether you’re joining hands around the dinner table with friends or embracing long-missed family and loved ones, this time of year is about togetherness. It’s about connection. It’s about belonging.

In other words, the holidays are about the things that make life worth living – as well as the qualities that help us live happier, healthier lives. Studies show that deep relationships and quality time spent with friends and family are integral to physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being at any age, and may even help us live longer.

While we often see this time of year as a break from the important responsibilities of our day-to-day routine, in truth, they’re the one time we’re free to focus on what really matters. They’re a recognition of the simple joys of good food, friendships, music, beauty, and gratitude for the blessings we share.

And whether you’re cooking up a Thanksgiving feast at home, traveling to spend it with those you love, or even forgoing a traditional dinner in favor of football and Buffalo wings, the heart of the holiday isn’t how you celebrate – it’s about who you’re celebrating with.

Here at The Mayflower, we’re blessed to be home to a culture founded in fellowship. Everyone who lives and works here is part of a close-knit community that feels like an extended family – where neighbors know each other by name, and you’re always surrounded by friends.

But that’s not the only reason the Thanksgiving story holds special significance to us. It’s also in our name – a tribute to the original Mayflower ship that carried the Pilgrims to their new home, and to the brave men and women who set their sights on distant horizons in pursuit of freedom and possibility.

Over the years, that original story has evolved into a symbol of peace and unity, bringing Americans together through some of the most difficult and divisive periods in history, from the early struggles of those first settlers to the devastation of the Civil War. And it’s rooted in a true story of spontaneous, heartfelt celebration, not of overwhelming abundance, but of simple joys of fellowship and freedom.

So, to everyone who lives and works here, and to our wider circle of friends, loved ones and neighbors: Thank you for being a part of our Mayflower family. Because of you, we’ve been able to create a culture that brings people together … a vibrant, carefree environment … and a community that truly feels like “home.”

From our home to yours, we wish you a very happy holiday season – and we welcome you to pay us a visit. Send us a message or give us a call at 407.934.0919 to plan your tour.
