2025: A Best-in-Class Year at The Mayflower!

The holidays are almost here – and with them, the close of another busy year. It’s a reminder to pause and reflect on where we began, where we are now, and how far we’ve come and here at The Mayflower, there’s plenty to look back on with pride.

In 2025, we celebrated a series of exciting milestones for our community and the members who call it home:

  • Honoring a National Hero. Even among the many veterans who call The Mayflower home, Major General John C. Raaen stands out: At age 103, he is the last surviving U.S. Army Ranger officer who landed on Omaha Beach in the initial D-Day assault. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in a special ceremony at The Mayflower – joining the likes of George Washington, Rosa Parks, the Wright brothers, and Walt Disney as one of fewer than 200 honorees in the award’s history.
  • Celebrating “the Best” – for Seven Years Running. This year, The Mayflower was once again voted the Best Senior Living Community in Winter Park (for the seventh consecutive year) by participants in the Winter Park Chamber’s annual Best of Winter Park awards. We’re also the only community to earn the top spot since the awards launched in 2019 – a testament to the strong reputation we’ve earned over the years.
  • Setting the Gold Standard for Wellness. We’ve long taken pride in our award-winning healthcare – and this year, Newsweek once again announced that The Mayflower’s Allerton Cove Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation will be featured on its upcoming list of Best Nursing Homes for 2026. This is the second consecutive year that The Mayflower has made the Newsweek list, and it follows a series of other accolades – including the prestigious Governor’s Gold Seal award and a 5-star rating from Medicare.
  • Expanding Programs and Partnerships. At The Mayflower, we’ve never settled for less than the best – and in the same way, we’re continually creating new opportunities for our residents. This year, we embarked on a special collaboration with the Orlando Ballet … another year of on-campus classes offered through the Winter Park Lifelong Learning Foundation … and a range of returning and new guest speakers, including philanthropic leader Margery Pabst Steinmetz.

We believe that success isn’t a finish line – it’s the starting point for greater things to come. That’s why we’re continuing to raise the bar in everything we do in order to provide stress-free security and ease for everyone who lives here.

There’s no better time to discover all the best Winter Park’s premier community has to offer. To learn more about The Mayflower (or to schedule a personal tour), send us a message or give us a call at 407.672.1620. We look forward to hearing from you!
