The Mayflower at Winter Park is proud to announce that our state-of-the-art Healthcare Center has once again been awarded the Governor’s Gold Seal – a prestigious honor for facilities that demonstrate excellence in long-term care.
Only the best of the best qualify for the Gold Seal: Out of 691 nursing facilities in Florida, just 13 earned the award in 2023. As one of that number, The Mayflower ranks in the top 2% of similar facilities statewide.
Rigorous and extensive criteria make the honor all the more exclusive. Recipients must have a quality-of-care ranking that places them in the top 10% in their region or the top 15% in the state – in addition to being rated as a Five Star center in the AHCA Nursing Home Guide. Other criteria include customer satisfaction, workforce stability, family interactions and financial soundness.
The Mayflower earned high marks across the board, receiving the AHCA’s Five Star rating in a number of categories including overall inspection, quality of care, dignity, and administration, among other performance measures. Allerton Cove, our 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation area, is also rated 5 stars by Medicare and was named one of the nation’s Best Nursing Homes for 2022/23 by US News and World Report.

Last fall – as part of a major expansion – The Mayflower opened its brand-new 84,800+-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art Healthcare Center. Allerton Cove’s Skilled Nursing area, which is also a teaching site for health sciences, provides spacious, all-private rooms that are organized into small “households” – each featuring large windows that bring in natural light, living areas with fireplaces, intimate areas with sunrooms, and full country kitchens. In addition to Skilled Nursing, the Healthcare Center houses Rehabilitation and Memory Support.
