Eleanor McKechnie admits she was initially hesitant to move to The Mayflower. “As we planned for the future, my first husband and I knew it was the right thing to do — but, to be honest, I came here with fear and trembling,” she says.
Turns out, there was absolutely nothing to fear. Seventeen years later, Eleanor looks back on the decision to move to The Mayflower as one of the best choices she’s ever made. “We came here young enough to really enjoy everything this community has to offer — and to take advantage of the freedom that comes with living in a CCRC,” she says. “The Mayflower never felt like a ‘retirement community’ to me. There’s so much to do here, and the people are so wonderful, you just don’t feel old.”
