Eighteen years after moving to The Mayflower, Eleanor McKechnie says it was one of the best choices she’s ever made. “It’s important to come here young enough to take advantage of the freedom that comes with living in a CCRC,” she says. “The Mayflower never felt like a ‘retirement community’ to me. There’s so much to do here, and the people are so wonderful, that you just don’t feel old.” But, of all the benefits The Mayflower offers, Eleanor says the “support system” is probably the most important. “I’ve been through the loss of both my first and second husband,” she adds. “And the support I’ve had from friends and staff at The Mayflower has really helped me through those difficult times.”
