PARTNERSHIP WITH ROLLINS COLLEGE

Award-Winning Enrichment Series Is One of
North America’s Most Innovative

Intellectual. Innovative. Interactive. Intergenerational. That’s Live and Learn – the Mayflower/Rollins on-campus enrichment series, which was honored in 2011 by the International Council on Active Aging with its prestigious ICAA Innovators Award.

Cited as being “an inspiring example of creativity and excellence,” the Mayflower/Rollins collaborative partnership differs from other retirement community/university affiliations because of its focus on immersion in the subject matter, interactivity and a small teacher-to-student ratio. With no more than 12 participants and taught by Rollins faculty and staff, classes feature hands-on learning and cover a range of subjects including art, theater, writing, history and environmental sciences. Transportation is provided to the Rollins campus, which is located less than three miles away.

Live and Learn complements a long, connected history between the college and The Mayflower. In addition to sharing common ancestry (both were founded by the First Congregational Church of Winter Park), Rollins has been providing speakers and programs to The Mayflower for years.
