Helping Residents Stay Healthier LongerWith a fully equipped Fitness Center, a heated pool, beautifully landscaped walking paths and a full-time wellness coordinator, The Mayflower provides numerous opportunities for residents to stay in “ship shape.” Health-related programs and exercise classes, which are offered six days a week, include:

- Advanced and beginners line dancing
- Traditional weight training
- Chair exercise
- Nordic pole walking
Find one or two exercises you enjoy and make them part of yourdaily routine, but make minor adjustments to keep the workouts interesting. For example, if you normally exercise inside, head outdoors for some fresh air and a change of scenery.
Stay in shape with a complete workout program that includescardiovascular, strength training and flexibility exercises. Together, these movements strengthen the heart and lungs, build musculoskeletal health and improve range of motion.
Work out with a partner and encourage each other. Your friendshould complement you in different ways, have similar fitness goals and provide that extra nudge and motivation you need to do your best. Plus, scheduling workouts together keeps you accountable, which means you’re less likely to skip a workout.
